Ok, so I’m not going to lie, by the time we made it to the Notorious Black we were 11 beers into the 12 Beers of Christmas and our state was altered enough to have not written any notes, and not taken any photos of the beer. Luckily we enjoyed a pint of the Black IPA at their tap room so I can at least give you a vague idea of what this beer is like.
If you go to the Bullfinch tap room you’re only allowed to buy this brew in half pints because, as the name would suggest, it is a bit naughty.
We’ve had mixed reviews about this brew, if you’re a lager-pale ale drinker you may struggle a bit with this one as it packs a huge punch of flavour. If you can handle a bit of bitter in your brew you’ll find the bitter sweet taste of this quite delightful.
I personally really liked this brew, I found it took a couple of mouthfuls to get your pallet adjusted but once you’ve got used to it this brew absolutely sings with dark caramel flavour!
