2. Agreement to These Terms
2.1 By placing a booking, making payment, accepting delivery, ticking an acceptance box, signing a hire form, or using the Equipment, the Hirer agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
2.2 These Terms apply from the point of booking or payment and remain in force until all Equipment has been returned, inspected, and accepted by Love Beer.
2.3 The Hirer confirms that they have read and understood these Terms before using the Equipment.
2.4 No variation to these Terms shall be valid unless agreed in writing by Love Beer.
2.5 Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights or legal protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.
3. Nature of Hire
3.1 Love Beer supplies Equipment on a dry-hire basis unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
3.2 Dry hire means that Love Beer supplies the agreed Equipment only. Love Beer does not provide bar staff, installation staff, gas engineers, on-site technicians, event-day troubleshooting, beer service, cellar management, or alcohol licensing services unless confirmed separately in writing.
3.3 The hire includes only the dispense unit and agreed accessories listed in the booking confirmation, invoice, hire pack, or equipment checklist.
3.4 Beer, kegs, gas, gas bottles, mixed gas, CO₂, nitrogen, cups, ice, bar stock and other consumables are not included unless expressly confirmed in writing.
3.5 The Hirer is responsible for purchasing and supplying the correct beer, keg type, gas type, gas bottle, and any other consumables required for their Event.
3.6 Where kegs, beer, gas, gas bottles, cleaning products, cups, or other consumables are purchased through Love Beer, those items are supplied separately from the Equipment hire and are subject to Love Beer’s separate Terms & Conditions relating to keg and consumable purchases.
3.7 These Equipment Hire Terms apply to the hire, use, cleaning, return, damage, loss, and collection of the hired Equipment. Any terms relating to the sale, delivery, storage, return, deposit, refund, ullage, shelf life, or collection of kegs and consumables shall be governed by Love Beer’s keg and consumable purchase terms.
3.8 If there is any inconsistency between these Equipment Hire Terms and Love Beer’s keg and consumable purchase terms, these Equipment Hire Terms shall apply to hired Equipment, and the keg and consumable purchase terms shall apply to purchased kegs, beer, gas, gas bottles, and other consumables.
4. Hirer Suitability and Competence
4.1 The Hirer confirms that they are competent and confident to receive, unpack, set up, test, operate, clean, repack, and return the Equipment.
4.2 The Hirer is responsible for ensuring that a competent person is available before and during the Event to operate the Equipment safely and correctly.
4.3 Love Beer does not provide on-site installation, setup assistance, gas installation, event-day troubleshooting, or on-call technical support after delivery.
4.4 The Hirer understands that no faults, missing items, setup issues, or technical support requests can be dealt with on the Event day.
4.5 The Hirer must read and follow all instructions supplied with the Equipment.
5. What the Hirer Must Check Before Booking
5.1 The Hirer is responsible for checking that the Equipment is suitable for their intended use before booking.
5.2 This includes checking:
a. the beer or keg type;
b. the correct coupler type;
c. the correct gas type;
d. whether gas or air compressor dispense is required;
e. venue access;
f. power supply;
g. space and setup location;
h. licensing requirements;
i. Event timings; and
j. whether the Hirer has the competence to use the Equipment.
5.3 Any guidance provided by Love Beer is general assistance only and does not remove the Hirer’s responsibility to check suitability.
5.4 Love Beer is not liable for poor dispense, failure to pour, incorrect pressure, warm beer, fobbing, incompatible kegs, incorrect couplers, incorrect gas, unsuitable power supply, venue issues, or operational problems caused by Hirer error or incorrect customer-supplied items.
6. Booking, Payment, and Confirmation
6.1 A booking is not confirmed until Love Beer has accepted the order and received the required payment, deposit, or written payment arrangement.
6.2 Love Beer may refuse, cancel, or amend a booking before dispatch where stock is unavailable, payment has not been received, delivery is not possible, or the booking details are incomplete or unsuitable.
6.3 The Hirer must check all booking details carefully, including delivery address, collection address, Event date, delivery date, collection date, equipment type, dispense setup, coupler type, gas requirements, and contact details.
6.4 Love Beer is not responsible for errors caused by incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the Hirer.
7. Deposit and Additional Charges
7.1 Love Beer may require a Deposit before dispatch.
7.2 The Deposit may be held until the Equipment has been returned, inspected, and any additional charges have been finalised.
7.3 Love Beer may deduct from the Deposit, or invoice separately for, any costs arising from:
a. damaged Equipment;
b. missing Equipment;
c. stolen Equipment;
d. dirty or contaminated Equipment;
e. wet or damaged packaging;
f. missing packaging, pallet box, lid, bubble wrap, or bungee cords;
g. incorrect packing;
h. failed collection;
i. late return;
j. courier charges;
k. additional cleaning;
l. repair or replacement;
m. administration;
n. loss of hire while Equipment is unavailable; or
o. any other breach of these Terms.
7.4 If additional charges exceed the Deposit, the Hirer remains liable for the balance.
7.5 Any remaining Deposit will be returned after inspection and finalisation of any charges.
7.6 Specific charges include, but are not limited to:
a. a £50 cleaning fee where Equipment is not properly cleaned before return;
b. a £50 recollection fee where courier collection fails due to an issue that is not Love Beer’s fault; and
c. an £80 administration fee where a Lindr machine, flash cooler, or dispense unit must be sent to a repair company due to damage, fault, misuse, contamination, or unauthorised alteration.
7.7 If hired Equipment has not been collected or returned more than 5 days after the agreed collection date, and the delay is not caused by Love Beer, Love Beer may charge the Hirer the full replacement cost of the affected Equipment. This charge reflects the commercial loss, loss of hire availability, and replacement requirement caused by the Equipment not being available for further hire. Any such charge may be deducted from the Deposit or invoiced separately.
7.8 All charges are plus VAT where applicable.
8. Order Changes
8.1 Any change to an order must be requested in writing.
8.2 Changes to Equipment, dispense setup, coupler type, fonts, delivery address, collection address, dates, or times are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.
8.3 Love Beer may charge additional fees for order changes, especially where preparation, packing, courier booking, or dispatch has already begun.
8.4 Love Beer is not required to accept changes after the booking has been confirmed.
9. Substitution and Availability
9.1 Love Beer will make reasonable efforts to supply the Equipment ordered.
9.2 In rare circumstances, Love Beer may offer a suitable substitute or equivalent item where the original Equipment is unavailable.
9.3 If no suitable substitute is available, Love Beer’s liability shall be limited to refunding the Hire Charge for the affected item.
9.4 Love Beer shall not be liable for Event disruption, loss of beer, lost sales, staff costs, venue costs, or any other indirect loss arising from unavailable or substituted Equipment.
10. Cancellation and Postponement
10.1 Cancellations and postponements must be requested in writing.
10.2 Once a booking is confirmed, the Equipment may be reserved for the Hirer and unavailable to other customers.
10.3 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the following cancellation terms apply:
a. cancellation more than 28 days before delivery: 75% refund of the Hire Charge;
b. cancellation between 14 and 28 days before delivery: 50% refund of the Hire Charge;
c. cancellation fewer than 14 days before delivery: no refund.
10.4 Delivery charges, courier charges, preparation charges, bespoke items, and any costs already incurred by Love Beer may be non-refundable.
10.5 Postponements are subject to availability.
10.6 If Love Beer cannot accommodate the new date requested by the Hirer, the postponement may be treated as a cancellation.
10.a Keg, Beer, Drinks and Stock Availability
10a.1 Keg, beer, drinks, and consumable availability may change from time to time due to supplier availability, brewery production, import delays, seasonal stock changes, product discontinuation, transport issues, or other circumstances outside Love Beer’s reasonable control.
10a.2 Where beer, kegs, drinks, or consumables are ordered as part of a bar hire or equipment hire booking, Love Beer will aim to confirm final stock availability with the Hirer at least 5 days before the hire date.
10a.3 Love Beer does not usually order event kegs far in advance because beer is a fresh product and may pass its best-before date if purchased too early. To help ensure the beer supplied is fresh and suitable for the Event, kegs are normally ordered closer to the hire date, usually within approximately 7 days before the Event.
10a.4 Product images, beer lists, menus, quotes, and stock options shown at the time of booking are indicative only and do not guarantee availability on the hire date.
10a.5 If a specific beer, keg, drink, or consumable becomes unavailable before the hire date, Love Beer may offer a suitable like-for-like replacement where possible. This may include a comparable product of similar type, style, size, and value.
10a.6 If no suitable replacement is available, or if the Hirer does not wish to accept the proposed replacement, Love Beer will refund the price paid for the unavailable beer, keg, drink, or consumable.
10a.7 Love Beer shall not be liable for wider losses, event disruption, loss of profit, disappointment, or consequential loss caused by product unavailability, provided Love Beer has offered a suitable replacement or refund for the unavailable item.
10a.8 Final supply of beer, kegs, drinks, and consumables is subject to availability from Love Beer’s suppliers at the time event stock is ordered.
11. Delivery and Collection Windows
11.1 Delivery and collection dates will be agreed as part of the booking.
11.2 Delivery and collection times are between 8am – 5pm and are estimates only unless expressly guaranteed in writing by Love Beer.
11.3 Love Beer use third-party couriers for delivery and collection.
11.4 The Hirer must not arrange delivery on the Event day unless they accept the risk of courier delay, missed delivery, or insufficient time to test the Equipment.
11.5 Love Beer strongly recommends that the Equipment is delivered, set up, and tested at least two Working Days before the Event.
11.6 Love Beer is not liable for Event disruption, lost sales, loss of beer, staff costs, venue costs, or other losses caused by courier delay, late delivery, failed delivery, or late collection.
12. Access Requirements
12.1 The Hirer must provide safe, clear, and reasonable access for delivery and collection.
12.2 The Hirer must ensure that the delivery and collection address is correct and accessible.
12.3 The Hirer must ensure that someone is available to receive and return the Equipment where required.
12.4 The Equipment must be ready for collection at the agreed time and location.
12.5 Failed delivery or collection caused by absence, incorrect address, denied access, blocked access, unsafe access, venue restrictions, parking issues, or Equipment not being ready may result in additional charges.
13. Delivery Inspection and Arrival Video
13.1 The Equipment will usually arrive in a pallet box or other protective packaging.
13.2 Before removing anything from the packaging, the Hirer must take a clear video showing:
a. the pallet box or packaging before opening;
b. the box being opened;
c. the Equipment and accessories inside; and
d. the condition of the Equipment and accessories on arrival.
13.3 The arrival video must be sent to Love Beer on the day the Equipment is received.
13.4 The Hirer must check all items against the equipment checklist immediately on delivery.
13.5 Any damage, missing items, faults, or discrepancies must be reported to Love Beer immediately and, where possible, within 24 hours of delivery.
13.6 If the Hirer does not report any issue within this period, the Equipment may be deemed to have been received complete, working, and in acceptable condition.
14. Mandatory Pre-Event Testing
14.1 The Hirer must set up and test the Equipment at least two Working Days before the Event.
14.2 The purpose of this requirement is to allow time for on-site testing and to give Love Beer a reasonable opportunity to assist with any unlikely faults, courier damage, or missing items before the Event.
14.3 The Hirer must test the Equipment in accordance with the instructions supplied.
14.4 Testing should include checking that liquid runs through the lines, the cooling function works, the Equipment is connected correctly, and all required accessories are present.
14.5 Any issue must be reported immediately with supporting photos or videos.
14.6 Love Beer is not responsible for problems first reported on the Event day where the Hirer failed to complete the required pre-event test.
15. No Event-Day Technical Support
15.1 Love Beer does not provide event-day troubleshooting.
15.2 Love Beer does not guarantee that calls, emails, or messages sent on the Event day will be answered or resolved before or during the Event.
15.3 The Hirer accepts full responsibility for setting up, testing, and understanding the Equipment before the Event.
15.4 Failure to test the Equipment before the Event may invalidate any claim that the Equipment was faulty, incomplete, or unsuitable.
16. No Alterations or Repairs
16.1 The Equipment will arrive set up according to the dispense option requested by the Hirer.
16.2 The Hirer must not detach, remove, alter, cut, twist, force, repair, modify, reconfigure, or tamper with any part of the Equipment without written instruction from Love Beer.
16.3 This includes taps, fonts, beer lines, gas lines, couplers, regulators, fittings, John Guest fittings, compressors, pressure settings, and electrical components.
16.4 Love Beer is not responsible for the Equipment failing to work where parts have been detached, changed, damaged, incorrectly connected, or altered by the Hirer.
16.5 Any unauthorised alteration may result in repair, replacement, inspection, administration, or loss-of-hire charges.
17. Use of Equipment
17.1 The Equipment must be used safely, lawfully, and only for its intended purpose.
17.2 The Hirer must take reasonable care of the Equipment at all times.
17.3 The Equipment must be kept secure, dry, clean, upright where required, and protected from rain, moisture, freezing conditions, excessive heat, dirt, impact, misuse, and unauthorised access.
17.4 The Equipment must not be used in unsafe conditions.
17.5 The Equipment must not be moved from the agreed delivery or Event address without Love Beer’s prior written consent.
17.6 The Hirer must not allow children, untrained persons, intoxicated persons, or unauthorised persons to operate or interfere with the Equipment.
18. Power Supply
18.1 The Hirer is responsible for providing a safe, suitable, stable, and adequate electrical power supply.
18.2 The Hirer must ensure that any extension leads, generators, sockets, outdoor power sources, and temporary power supplies are safe and suitable for the Equipment.
18.3 Love Beer is not liable for Equipment failure, tripping, poor cooling, warm beer, electrical issues, or poor dispense caused by inadequate, unstable, overloaded, unsafe, or unsuitable power supply.
18.4 Electrical Equipment must not be exposed to rain, water, liquid ingress, or unsafe outdoor conditions.
19. Gas Safety
19.1 Where gas is used, the Hirer is responsible for sourcing the correct gas and ensuring it is connected, stored, handled, and used safely.
19.2 Gas bottles must be stored upright, secured where appropriate, protected from damage, and used only in suitable, ventilated areas.
19.3 The Hirer must ensure that any person connecting or operating gas equipment is competent to do so.
19.4 Love Beer does not supply gas engineers, gas installation, or gas certification services unless expressly agreed in writing.
19.5 Love Beer is not liable for poor dispense, leaks, unsafe use, damage, injury, or loss caused by incorrect gas, incorrect pressure, insecure connection, unsuitable storage, lack of ventilation, or Hirer error.
20. Cleaning Before Use
20.1 The Hirer must clean and test the Equipment before connecting beer or kegs.
20.2 The Hirer must use the cleaning bottle and cleaning powder supplied, where provided.
20.3 The Hirer must follow the cleaning and testing process supplied with the Equipment.
20.4 The Hirer must ensure that cleaning fluid is properly flushed through the lines and then rinsed with clean water before beer is connected.
20.5 Love Beer is not responsible for beer taste, contamination, poor dispense, or product loss caused by failure to clean, rinse, or test the Equipment correctly.
21. Cleaning Before Return
21.1 Before return, the Hirer must clean the machine and lines using the second cleaning powder sachet supplied, where provided.
21.2 The Hirer must follow the same cleaning process used during setup.
21.3 The machine, taps, fonts, drip trays, lines, couplers, and accessories must be wiped down and returned free from beer, liquid, residue, dirt, and contamination.
21.4 The Equipment must be dry before being packed.
21.5 If the Equipment, machine, beer lines, taps, couplers, drip trays, fonts, or accessories are returned without being properly cleaned, Love Beer may charge a £50 cleaning fee.
21.6 The £50 cleaning fee may be deducted from the Deposit or invoiced separately.
21.7 The cleaning fee does not limit Love Beer’s right to charge additional costs where Equipment is returned heavily soiled, contaminated, damaged, wet, mouldy, or unsuitable for immediate inspection or re-hire.
21.8 All cleaning fees are plus VAT where applicable.
22. Return Video and Photo Evidence
22.1 Before packing the Equipment away, the Hirer must take a video showing:
a. liquid pouring from the tap into a glass;
b. the thermometer showing that the liquid is cold, where a thermometer is supplied;
c. the machine working correctly; and
d. the machine and accessories in good condition before return.
22.2 The Hirer must also take a clear photo showing all Equipment packed inside the pallet box or packaging before collection.
22.3 This evidence helps confirm that the Equipment was working, complete, clean, and undamaged before collection.
22.4 Failure to provide return evidence may affect Love Beer’s ability to dispute courier damage or investigate damage, loss, or missing items.
23. Packing for Collection
23.1 The Equipment must be returned in the original pallet box and using the original packaging supplied, including any lid, bubble wrap, and bungee cords.
23.2 The Hirer must store the pallet box, lid, packaging, bubble wrap, and bungee cords safely and keep them dry during the Hire Period.
23.3 Before collection, the Hirer must:
a. clean the Equipment;
b. dry the Equipment;
c. check all items against the equipment checklist;
d. wrap the machine and fonts in bubble wrap where supplied;
e. secure the Equipment using the bungee cords where supplied;
f. place all accessories back inside the pallet box or packaging;
g. take a photo of the packed Equipment;
h. close and secure the lid; and
i. ensure the box is ready for courier collection.
23.4 Failure to return the Equipment in the original packaging may result in additional packaging, repair, replacement, courier, or administration charges.
23.4 Keg Returns and Collections
Empty kegs remain the property of the relevant brewery, supplier, or keg owner and must not be kept, sold, disposed of, damaged, reused, or returned with any Love Beer hire equipment. Empty kegs must not be placed inside, strapped to, or returned with the Lindr machine, flash cooler, pallet box, or any hire equipment collection. The pallet collection is for Love Beer hire equipment only.
Unless Love Beer has agreed in writing to collect empty kegs, the customer is responsible for arranging their return separately.
The customer must arrange keg collection promptly once empty and must keep all kegs safe, secure, and available for collection. Returning kegs incorrectly, including sending them with the hire equipment pallet, may cause courier refusal, equipment damage, delay, loss, additional charges, or deductions from any deposit held. Any keg deposits, rental charges, non-return charges, replacement charges, courier charges, delays, losses, or other costs relating to unreturned, lost, damaged, missing, or incorrectly returned kegs may be passed on to the customer or deducted from any deposit held.
24. Failed Collection and Recollection Fee
24.1 The Equipment must be ready for courier collection at the agreed date and place.
24.2 You must be present and available for the courier to collect the machine between 8:30am and 6:00pm on the agreed collection date.
24.3 If the courier is unable to collect the equipment due to an issue that is not Love Beer’s fault, a £50 recollection fee will apply for each failed collection attempt. This may be deducted from your deposit or invoiced separately.
24.4 Further charges may apply where the failed collection causes late return, additional courier charges, storage costs, or loss of hire.
24.5 Recollection fees are plus VAT where applicable.
25. Late Return and Extended Hire
25.1 The Hirer must return or make the Equipment available for collection on the agreed collection date.
25.2 If the Equipment is not ready, unavailable, inaccessible, incorrectly packed, or not collected due to the Hirer’s actions or omissions, additional hire charges may apply.
25.3 Extended hire is subject to availability and must be agreed in writing by Love Beer.
25.4 Love Beer will charge additional daily hire of £35 per day, courier, administration, storage, or loss-of-hire charges where Equipment is returned late or collection fails.
26. Risk and Responsibility
26.1 Risk in the Equipment passes to the Hirer upon delivery.
26.2 The Hirer remains responsible for the Equipment until it has been successfully collected, returned, inspected, and accepted by Love Beer.
26.3 The Hirer is responsible for the safe keeping, security, proper use, cleaning, and return of all Equipment during the Hire Period.
26.4 Equipment left with venues, staff, event organisers, couriers, guests, contractors, or other third parties remains the Hirer’s responsibility.
27. Ownership
27.1 All Equipment remains the property of Love Beer at all times.
27.2 The Hirer has no ownership rights in the Equipment.
27.3 The Hirer must not sell, lend, sub-hire, transfer, pledge, charge, dispose of, relocate, hide, abandon, or allow any third party to claim rights over the Equipment.
27.4 The Hirer must not remove, cover, damage, or interfere with any identification labels, serial numbers, asset tags, or markings on the Equipment.
28. Damage, Loss, Theft, Missing Items, and Unusable Items
28.1 The Hirer is responsible for all loss, theft, damage, breakage, contamination, misuse, unauthorised alteration, missing items, and missing packaging.
28.2 Damage or missing items may only be identified after the Equipment has been returned and inspected by Love Beer.
28.3 The Hirer will be liable for the cost of repair or replacement where Equipment is lost, stolen, damaged, contaminated, altered, or returned incomplete.
28.4 Charges may include:
a. replacement parts;
b. full replacement value;
c. repair labour;
d. inspection costs;
e. cleaning costs;
f. courier costs;
g. postage costs;
h. packaging costs;
i. administration costs; and
j. loss of hire while Equipment is unavailable.
28.5 Missing Equipment may continue to accrue hire charges until it is returned or until Love Beer agrees that it is permanently lost and invoices the replacement value.
28.6 Missing, damaged, contaminated, incomplete, or unusable items will be charged to the Hirer at the replacement cost shown on Love Beer’s published website price list or replacement price list at the time the charge is assessed.
28.7 Where no replacement price is listed, Love Beer may charge the reasonable cost of replacing the item, including delivery, postage, packaging, supplier charges, and administration costs.
28.8 Items may be treated as unusable where they are damaged, contaminated, altered, incomplete, unsafe, excessively dirty, wet, missing parts, or otherwise unsuitable for future hire.
28.9 Replacement charges are plus VAT where applicable.
29. Lindr Machine, Flash Cooler, and Dispense Unit Damage
29.1 If a Lindr machine, flash cooler, or dispense unit is returned damaged, faulty, altered, contaminated, misused, or otherwise not in the condition supplied, Love Beer may send the unit to a specialist repair company for inspection, assessment, servicing, or repair.
29.2 The Hirer will be liable for all reasonable costs connected with the inspection, repair, servicing, parts, labour, carriage, postage, courier charges, and return delivery.
29.3 In addition to the repair-related costs, Love Beer may charge an £80 administration fee for managing the repair process, liaising with the repair company, arranging carriage, inspecting reports, processing the claim, and updating the Hirer.
29.4 Repair costs, postage, courier costs, the £80 administration fee, and any related charges may be deducted from the Deposit or invoiced separately.
29.5 If the Lindr machine, flash cooler, or dispense unit is beyond economical repair, missing, stolen, or permanently unusable, the Hirer will be liable for the full replacement value of the unit, together with any courier, inspection, administration, and loss-of-hire charges.
29.6 Repair, replacement, postage, courier, and administration charges are plus VAT where applicable.
30. Insurance
30.1 The Hirer is responsible for ensuring they hold suitable insurance for the full replacement value of the Equipment.
30.2 The Hirer should also hold appropriate public liability insurance for the Event and for use of the Equipment.
30.3 Love Beer may request evidence of insurance before dispatch or delivery.
30.4 The Hirer remains liable for loss, theft, damage, injury, third-party claims, and other charges whether or not insurance is in place.
31. Licensing and Legal Compliance
31.1 The Hirer is responsible for obtaining all licences, permissions, permits, approvals, and consents required for the Event.
31.2 This may include venue permission, landowner permission, Temporary Event Notices, alcohol licensing, premises licence coverage, health and safety compliance, fire safety compliance, and local authority requirements.
31.3 The Hirer is responsible for ensuring they are legally permitted to sell, serve, supply, or dispense alcohol at the Event.
31.4 Love Beer is not responsible for the Hirer’s alcohol licensing, Event permissions, age-verification procedures, staffing, legal compliance, or venue compliance.
31.5 The Hirer must use the Equipment in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, venue rules, and safety requirements.
32. Third-Party Venues and Premises

35.2 Such events may include courier disruption, strikes, road closures, severe weather, fire, flood, pandemic, war, terrorism, civil unrest, supplier failure, power failure, fuel shortages, vehicle breakdown, network failure, or other circumstances beyond Love Beer’s reasonable control.
