Today we start off our run down of the 12 Beers of Christmas gift set starting on today, the first day of Christmas. Merry Christmas everyone!
Just a quick one on this as Partizan have a brilliant write up on their own blog and I don’t want to detract from that. So go check out their Lovibond 1864 blog post for a lot more of the history of this ale and great information like the recipe and even boiling times for the hops!
Like all of the Partizan brews I really enjoyed this beer, it goes without saying with most of their products. This is a really tasty old style ale, it really reminded me of an ale we have later on in the 12 beers series that is based on an old medieval ale recipe. This doesn’t pack a huge punch of flavour but instead is much more subtle with a lot of depth of tastes. The last taste on the tongue is a very slight hint of honey.
